On April 3rd we are embarking on our long awaited trip to Ireland, Scotland and England. We wish that it had worked out for Sue & Dave Frank to join us, but we instead now hope to share our experiences with them and other family and friends interested in following us.

We are starting in Dublin and have planned about two weeks in each country, along with a side trip to London at the end of our trip. We plan to see the sights, explore our family heritage, and spend as much of our time as possible immersed in the Irish and Scottish histories, cultures and traditions.

Over the past several years we have studied and planned for this trip . We have made all of our own travel, hotel/B&B and excursion arrangements. We used Rick Steves guidebooks, online family heritage research and advice from other seasoned travelers to determine our locations to visit. We are only using public transporation or walking during the entire trip. So planes, trains, buses, cabs and our feet will help us to experience these Celtic countries.

Travel Map is a new blog site that we recently discovered and are trying out for this trip. It seems a bit easier to use than the Google Blogger we used for our 2023 Camino de Santiago trek. We like the mapping function of this program. It shows our planned route, along with the ability to attach blog comments, pictures and videos to each of the locations we will visit.

You can follow our planned itinerary from location to location on the map or the timeline (On a phone, drag up from bottom of map to view the timeline). The upper left 3 bars give you another way to access to our blog posts & pics or send us a note. You can also make comments to us about our posts or pics by selecting the “ i “ in the upper right of each post or pic on your phone or when you open a post or pic on your computer.

We hope that you enjoy following us along our Celtic journey!
